FAMILY SYMBOL
I believe that the five Olympic Rings are a good representation of my family. To begin, there are five people in my immediate family and we each are separate individuals who have different qualities that make our family complete as a whole. The five continents that are represented by the Olympic Rings each bring a different aspect and different cultures to the Olympics every four years. Secondly, my family is extremely competitive and into playing sports as well as watching sports. My brother and I love to compete in all types of sports such as basketball, racquetball, tennis, etc. Most of my family enjoys watching professional sports on TV, including the Olympics.
The Olympic Rings are also a good metaphor for the Harris Family because we have emigrated from different parts of the world similar to how different countries come together as one at the Olympics. My dad's ancestors emigrated from Poland and Lithuania. My mom's side emigrated from Romania and Russia. When my immediate family reunites for Holidays and vacations, it is very special and enjoyable much like the Olympics every four years.
