Spencer's Heritage

 POEMS

We Are Family

1980 was the year they met,
To this day their love is a safe bet.

Married in April of Eighty-Two,
27 years now, oh how they flew.

First son Adam, born in Eighty Four,
Three years later, they'd have one more.

Birth of Spencer helped them find their groove,
Then from LA to Sacramento they would move.

For 14 years they have been in Sac-Town,
The two oldest graduated in cap and gown.

The third and final is still at Rio,
Working hard to make the Harris kids a college trio.

To the future the family gazes,
Susan and Joel's marriage still amazes.

Living Through History

Clinton, Bush, Obama are the Presidents I remember,
Selected every four years, first Tuesday
of November,
For Obama to win, he beat an aging contender.

Another leader elected and history was made,
A minority candidate beat the Presidential blockade,
Millions then participated in the inaugural parade.

To the people, decisions are what Obama must relay,
War, the Economy and Taxes are choices he must weigh,
American history is recorded each and every day.

The Los Angeles Lakers

Pau, Fisher, Kobe, Artest,
My L.A. Lakers are the very best.

First off the bench is a man named Lamar,
Followed by Sasha, Luke, and Jordan Farmar.

In the 80s and 2000s we won rings back to back,
Sitting in front row for every home game is Nicholson, Jack.

Last season we won championship number fifteen,
Our Sunday white jerseys are ever so clean.

Games at the Staples Center are always sold out,
Fans there are eager to see the Lakers next rout.

At the end of this season we will raise yet another banner,
Announced of course by legendary PA announcer Lawrence Tanner.
